About Lonicera sempervirens - Coral Honeysuckle Vine
Coral Honeysuckle Vine is a beautiful, slender, tendriled vine that blooms in the early Spring with showy trumpet shaped flowers in bright coral red flowers with yellow throats. It is a profuse bloomer and a moderatedly vigorous grower. With good care, runners can easily grow to be 10' to 20' feet long, and will provide good quick cover for a fence line or other support, but is not overly aggressive or invasive.
Coral Honeysuckle Vine is a great choice for embankments or other areas where erosion control is needed.
This vine is a very showy bloomer, is not fragrant, but is an excellent nectar source for hummingbirds and butterflies. The flowers are followed by a bright maroon colored berry that attracts birds.
Coral Honeysuckle Vine is tolerant of a wide range of soil types, and is drought tolerant once well established. This species is native to Florida and many other southern states.
