Hibiscus Marguerite is an old heirloom cultivar that requires a little more work and are than some varieties, but is well worth the effort.
The bloom is a large double form in shades of purple to deep mauve pink, which are uncommon in tropical hibiscus. The plant has large, glossy, slightly oval shaped leaves in a deep olive toned green.
Marguerite Double Purple Hibiscus grows slightly slower than the average landscape hibiscus cultivar and unlike many other cultivars will bloom when planted in light shade.
For the best results with Hibiscus rosa seninsis - Marguerite:
- Plant in well draining, fertile soil.
- Locate in the full sun or lightly dappled shade.
- Feed a good quality slow release bloom boosting plant food twice yearly
- Prune for shape after flowering
- Protect from frost and freeze
